Our projections are built in-house using public NFL data. We publish how they perform against a public baseline — the table below — and the full season-by-season report, including the seasons when they fall short, will publish alongside the product.

Does it actually work?
We tested SlickDrafts on seven NFL seasons the model had never seen and compared it with a simple but difficult baseline: ranking every player where they finished the year before. Measured 27 August 2026.

Zero would mean we knew nothing; one would mean we ordered every player perfectly.
No cherry-picking. Every held-out season is inside these numbers, including the one season, at one position, where the simple baseline did better than we did. The full season-by-season breakdown publishes with the product.
Tight end used to be the weak one, and is not any more. An earlier version of this table showed a lower number there and said the margin swung too much year to year to call it proven. A fix on 27 August — the model had been scoring tight ends against a universe they were never in — raised it, and it now clears the same statistical test as the other three. This table went on showing the old number until 22 September, which understated the model on the one page built to publish it.
These are measured on the 27 August run. The model has been improved several times since and the published measurement has not caught up; when it is re-scored, this table changes with it. We would rather show a number we can point at the run behind than one nobody measured.
